Chandra Bahadur Dangi declared the shortest man ever recorded by Guinness
he Guinness World Records officials Sunday recognised Seventy-two years old Chandra Bahadur Dangi from Dang district of Nepal as the world's shortest man ever recorded by the Guinness.
Guinness World Records team led by its Editor-in-Chief Craig Glenda also confirmed that Dangi was the shortest human to ever have their heights recorded by the Guiness.
Dangi who weighs 12 kilograms had first made his claims for the world’s shortest man title at a press conference held in Birtamod, Jhapa, on January 30. He said he was not noticed “for living in the remotest region of the district and having no access to communication”.
After the confirmation by the Guinness team, he has beaten Gul Mohammed of India, who, at 22.5 inches, was considered the shortest adult human to ever have their age and height verified by Guinness World Records before he died in 1997 at the age of 40.
After the confirmation, Dangi has taken the title of the world’s shortest man from Filipino Junrey Balawing who measures just 23.5 inches. Earlier, Balawing had beaten another Nepali, Khagendra Thapa Magar, who measured in 2010 at just over 26 inches.
